Two different “Fortnite codes” (do not mix them up)
Players search “redeem Fortnite code” for two totally different systems:

If you bought a retail card and try to type the PIN as a creator code, it will fail. If you type a streamer’s creator tag on the V-Bucks card website, that also fails.

Before you redeem anything
- Sign into the Epic account that owns your locker — check skins on epicgames.com/account before pasting a PIN.
- Confirm the console / Microsoft / PlayStation profile you will select is the one linked to that Epic ID.
- Enable 2FA so a shared family PC cannot burn your card on the wrong login.
- Scratch the PIN carefully; do not buy “code checkers” or Discord “redeem bots.”
How to redeem a V-Bucks card (all platforms start here)
Epic’s flow is web-first. You generally cannot finish a retail V-Bucks card by pasting the PIN inside the Fortnite client alone.
- Open fortnite.com/vbuckscard in a browser.
- Click Get Started and sign into the correct Epic Games account (use console login buttons if that is how you normally authenticate).
- Enter the PIN from the back of the card / digital email — usually without dashes.
- Click Next.
- Choose the platform / device you play Fortnite on. Only linked platforms appear — if yours is missing, fix Connections first.
- Review Epic account name, device, and projected balance, then Confirm.
PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile
After Confirm, V-Bucks usually post to the Epic wallet for that platform path. Launch Fortnite, open the Item Shop, and verify the balance. Force-quit and relaunch once if the UI lags.
PlayStation (PS5 / PS4) — secondary code required
Selecting PlayStation generates a secondary PlayStation Store code (Epic shows it and/or emails it). You must redeem that code on the Sony account linked to your Epic:
- Finish the fortnite.com/vbuckscard Confirm step with PlayStation selected.
- Copy the secondary code Epic provides.
- Redeem it in the PlayStation Store (console: Settings / PlayStation Store → Redeem Codes, or Sony’s web redeem page while signed into the correct PSN).
- Use an incognito window if you have multiple PSN logins — redeeming on the wrong Sony ID is the #1 support nightmare.
- Relaunch Fortnite on that PSN and check V-Bucks.
Xbox — secondary Microsoft code required
Same two-step pattern as PlayStation:
- Confirm on fortnite.com/vbuckscard with Xbox selected.
- Copy the secondary Microsoft / Xbox prepaid-style code Epic generates.
- Redeem it on the Microsoft account linked to your Epic (Xbox console redeem UI or Microsoft’s redeem site).
- Relaunch Fortnite and verify balance.
Epic’s help page explicitly notes Xbox / PlayStation need this secondary redeem step; PC / Switch / mobile generally do not.
Creator codes (Support-A-Creator) — how they actually work
A creator code does not unlock skins or add V-Bucks. It tells Epic which creator should receive a share of eligible purchases you make while the code is active.
How to enter a creator code
- Launch Fortnite and open the Item Shop.
- Find Enter Code / Support-A-Creator (wording varies slightly by patch).
- Type the creator’s code exactly (often the streamer name or a short tag).
- Confirm. You should see the creator name applied for a limited time window (Epic rotates how long a code “sticks” — re-enter before big purchases if unsure).
- Buy Battle Pass, V-Bucks packs (when eligible), Crew, or shop cosmetics as normal.
Creator code FAQ players get wrong
- It is not a coupon. Price stays the same.
- It is not a V-Bucks card PIN. Different system.
- Gifting / some SKUs may be ineligible depending on Epic’s current SAC rules — if the code does not apply, the purchase can still succeed without supporting anyone.
- You can change codes before checkout; last confirmed code usually wins for that session/window.
- Phishing sites that ask you to “verify creator code” with your password are scams — only use the in-game shop field or Epic’s official surfaces.
Epic Games Store keys vs Fortnite V-Bucks cards
Some retail “Fortnite” products or Epic wallet cards redeem on epicgames.com store redeem pages instead of fortnite.com/vbuckscard. If the packaging says Epic Games Store / wallet credit, follow the Epic redeem URL printed on the card — do not force it through the V-Bucks card site.

Safety checklist (scam avoidance)
- Only redeem on fortnite.com / epicgames.com / official console stores
- Never send a PIN to “support” in Discord, Instagram DMs, or “giveaway hosts”
- Never screenshot a full unused PIN publicly
- If a site asks for your password and the card PIN together outside Epic’s login, leave
- After redeeming, you can spend with the V-Bucks calculator and check the Item Shop before impulse buys

Can I redeem a V-Bucks card inside Fortnite?
Not as the primary flow. Start at fortnite.com/vbuckscard. Console players then finish on PlayStation Store / Microsoft Store when prompted.
Do V-Bucks transfer across PC and console?
V-Bucks follow Epic’s platform wallet rules and how you redeemed. Cross-progress cosmetics live on the Epic account, but spending balances can be platform-separated — redeem intentionally for the device you shop on, and read Epic’s on-screen balance preview before Confirm.
Can I refund a redeemed card?
Generally no once redeemed. Keep the receipt for Epic Support if the PIN fails or posts incorrectly. Cosmetic regret after spending V-Bucks is a different tool — refunds guide.
How do I support a creator without buying anything?
