Why linking matters
Fortnite progress lives on your Epic Games account. Linking PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo lets you:
- Carry the same locker / Battle Pass across devices
- Sign in with the console account you already use
- Avoid creating a second empty Epic account by accident

Before you link (read this)
- Decide which Epic account owns the skins you care about. Linking does not merge two full lockers into one.
- Enable 2FA on the Epic account you will keep.
- Unlink only when you understand you may lose console access to that Epic until you reconnect.
- Epic generally allows one primary connection per platform type — if another PSN/Xbox/Nintendo was linked before, you may see “another account was previously connected” errors.
How to link Epic to PlayStation (PS5 / PS4)
- On PlayStation, launch Fortnite.
- When prompted to link / sign in to Epic, choose Sign in with Epic (or create only if you truly need a new account).
- Sign in with the Epic email that owns your skins.
- Approve the PlayStation Network connection.
- Confirm on Epic → Connections that PlayStation shows as connected.
Already in Fortnite on PS? You can also start from the Epic website: Connections → Connect PlayStation → follow Sony’s authorize screen → relaunch Fortnite.
If the wrong Epic account linked: stop playing on it, contact Epic Support / use connection help articles carefully — do not buy a “merge service.”
How to link Epic to Xbox
- Launch Fortnite on Xbox and sign in with your Xbox Gamertag.
- Follow the Epic link prompt and sign into the correct Epic account.
- Or use Epic Connections → Connect Xbox → authorize with Microsoft.
- Relaunch Fortnite and check the locker matches.
Xbox Game Pass / Microsoft Store PC Fortnite also uses the Xbox ↔ Epic link. Keep the same Microsoft account across devices.
How to link Epic to Nintendo Switch
- On Switch, open Fortnite and choose the Epic sign-in / link flow.
- You will usually get a code or browser page — open it on a phone/PC, sign into Epic, enter the code.
- Confirm Nintendo shows under Epic Connections.
- Restart Fortnite on Switch.
Switch players often create orphan Epic accounts by mashing through prompts. Always verify the email on epicgames.com matches the locker you expect.
Fix common link errors
“Another [platform] account was previously connected”
That Epic ID already used a different PSN/Xbox/Nintendo. You cannot casually attach a second one. Options: sign in with the originally linked console account, or follow Epic’s official unlink / support path for eligible cases.
“I have two lockers”
You created two Epic accounts. There is no self-serve locker merge. Pick one primary account, secure it, and stop progressing the empty one.

After linking checklist
- Confirm skins on each device
- Turn on 2FA
- Set the same creator code habits / privacy settings
- Look yourself up on the Fortnite stats tracker with the Epic display name
FAQ
Does linking share V-Bucks?
V-Bucks balance is on the Epic account (with platform purchase caveats). Purchases made on a console storefront may be restricted to that ecosystem’s rules — but cosmetics unlock on the linked Epic locker for play.
Can I unlink later?
Yes from Epic Connections, with consequences for how you sign in on that console. Unlink only intentionally.
