The Fortnite Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks, or it is included with an active Fortnite Crew subscription. Epic cut it from 1,000 when they raised pack prices on 19 March 2026. Official Override pass page: fortnite.com/battle-pass.

Do you earn the pass back?
Yes, if you complete it. The paid track currently awards 800 V-Bucks — the same as the purchase price. Epic removed the extra V-Bucks that used to sit on Bonus Rewards pages (the old “1,000 + 500” loop). Finish the pass and you can buy the next season’s pass without another pack. You do not stockpile shop money from the pass anymore.

Override (this season) vs the price question
Price is account-wide and does not change because the island is Override. What does expire on 1 November 2026 ET:
- Unclaimed Override pages (Sonic / Gaming Legends / Super Styles)
- Seasonal quest XP toward those pages
If you are buying the pass in the last week of October, open the XP calculator first. A pass you cannot finish is 800 V-Bucks you will not earn back. Season checklist: Override Battle Pass guide and v42.40 last patch.
How to buy it
- Have 800 V-Bucks (pack, leftover balance, or last season’s pass refund) or an active Crew sub.
- Open Passes in the lobby.
- Buy Battle Pass — not a random Item Shop tile named after a pass skin.
- You cannot spend V-Bucks to gift a Battle Pass. Gifting uses real money where Epic still offers it.

Battle Bundle — when 2,600 is rational
2,600 V-Bucks = pass + 25 levels. That is 1,800 extra V-Bucks of levels on top of the 800 pass. Buy it only if:
- You are late in the season and 25 levels is the difference between finishing and missing a page you care about, and
- You already know from the XP calculator that weeklies + Fortnitemares quests will not get you there.
Do not buy the bundle on 31 October hoping Super Styles appear from nowhere.

How much is the Fortnite Battle Pass in dollars?
If you have 0 V-Bucks: one $8.99 pack (800 V-Bucks) on Epic’s USD sheet, plus tax on some storefronts. If you already have 800 leftover, the pass is “free” in cash terms.
Does the free Battle Pass give V-Bucks?
A few nodes, not 800. Count the V-Bucks icons on the free page in-game. It will not fund a Legendary skin.
Can I refund a Battle Pass?
Generally no. Item Shop cosmetics have Cancel Purchase / Return Tickets. Passes and pass levels are a different policy. Refunds guide.
Will Battle Pass skins come to the shop later?
Epic’s current language: pass items may hit the shop at least 18 months after that pass expires, with style options that can differ. Do not skip a pass assuming a cheap shop rerelease.
