What Jimothy actually is
Jimothy is an Uncommon Sidekick — a raccoon that follows you, not a skin, not a Sprite you equip in the hotbar, and not a Battle Pass page. Epic’s locker line is “Looks like a Jimothy.” He shipped with Fortnitemares v42.30 (1 October 2026) as Companion_ScrapPaws. You cannot buy him with V-Bucks during the event.
The unlock is a hidden quest players have been calling Extract A Silly Little Guy. It does not always sit in the regular quest list. Completing it once is enough.

How to unlock Jimothy (one match)
- Queue Battle Royale or Zero Build pubs (not Creative). Ranked can be picky with Fortnitemares toys — pubs is the clean run.
- Find a Dumpster Dive Sprite (any variant — Gold, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter, Trick or Treat, Cheat Master all count as long as the name includes Dumpster Dive / Diver).
- Carry it to a physical Extraction Site on the map. Finish the extract there.
- Survive until the extract actually completes. Dying with the Sprite still on you does not count.
- Back in the lobby, open Locker → Sidekicks. Jimothy should be sitting there. Equip him.
Do not treat a Portable Extractor as a guaranteed shortcut. Independent write-ups that actually tested the hidden quest say the handheld extract plays the animation and does not grant Jimothy. If you already used a Portable Extractor and he is missing from the locker, run it again on a real pad.
Where Dumpster Dive Sprites spawn
There is no shop listing. You have to find one in a match.
Most reliable farm: land Nightmare Neighborhood, kill Freddy Krueger. Coverage is consistent that he drops a Dumpster Dive Sprite. If the boss marker is missing, he can be disguised as another character in the POI — interact / shoot the suspicious NPC instead of rotating out empty. That POI is contested. Have a rotate.
If you skip the boss:
- Pumpkin Chests (Fortnitemares giant pumpkins)
- Cheat Codes / Trick or Treat terminals around the island
- Regular chests and floor Sprite luck (thin — do not plan a whole session on this)
Any Dumpster Dive variant works. You do not need a gold foil.
Admin Panel Extraction Accelerators (Lobby Hack codes) make the pad less of a third-party magnet. They do not spawn the Sprite for you. Codes: Admin Panel how-to.
Extract without throwing the unlock
Public Extraction Sites still advertise on the map (beacon / pad). Clear the area before you hit the terminal. The defend window is loud. If the first pad is cooked, rotate with the Sprite — do not Portable-extract “just to be safe” if you came for Jimothy.
Winning the match with the Sprite still on you is reported as a backup by some players. We are not treating that as the main path. The path we will tell you to use is a physical site.
The older Sprite extract guide is a Runners (C7S3) archive for timers and pad etiquette. Use it for the idea of “sites unlock after early storm / one use per pad.” Trust the live Override HUD for the current timer.
After he is in the locker
Jimothy is a Sidekick, so he lives on the Sidekicks tab, not Outfits. Equip him there. Extra reactions / a follow-up Sidekick quest can appear in-client after the unlock — we will not invent a points sheet. If the raccoon is in the locker, you already got the trending reward.
Last-week honesty
From 24 October you have days. Fortnitemares is the window. We are not promising Epic will sell Jimothy in the Item Shop after 31 October. If you want him free, extract this week.

FAQ
Can I buy Jimothy with V-Bucks?
Not as the Fortnitemares method. The live path is the Sprite extract. Ignore “free Jimothy generator” sites — those are the same scam pattern as fake V-Bucks codes.
Does the Portable Extractor work?
Treat it as no for this specific quest unless Epic changes it. Several independent tests say a real Extraction Site is required. If portable worked for you, you got lucky or a later patch fixed it — still use a pad if the locker is empty.
Do I have to extract a specific variant?
No. Any Dumpster Dive / Diver Sprite.
Is Jimothy a Sprite or a pet?
Sidekick. Different locker tab from Sprites. Extracting the Dumpster Dive Sprite is just the quest condition.
Ranked / Reload / Creative?
Do the extract in a normal BR / Zero Build match where Fortnitemares Sprites and Extraction Sites are actually in the ruleset. Creative maps will not grant the Sidekick.
