Short version
Fortnite Crew is worth it if you already buy the Battle Pass every season and want the extra passes + Crew Pack. It is not a V-Bucks generator, and it is not cheaper than playing for free.
Epic cut the monthly Crew V-Bucks grant from 1,000 to 800 in the same March 2026 economy update that shrank packs. Timing of that grant change was emailed to subscribers by region — if your Crew page still shows a different number, trust the in-game Crew screen.

- A monthly Crew Pack cosmetic
- 800 V-Bucks per month (the grant)

V-Bucks leftover from last season’s finished pass already cover the next 800 V-Bucks BR pass. Crew’s extra value is the other passes + Crew Pack + the 800 grant you can spend in the shop, not “unlocking the BR pass twice.”
Rough monthly math (USD, ignore tax)
These are planning numbers, not invoices:
- BR pass only, you finish it every season: one $8.99 pack per season is enough forever after the first one (800 in, 800 back). Crew is overkill unless you want the other tracks / Pack.
- BR pass + shop skins: the 800 Crew grant is one Uncommon outfit or the next pass. Compare 800 grant vs buying a $8.99 pack that month.
- You buy Music + LEGO every season anyway: Crew’s included 1,200 + 1,200 V-Bucks of passes is the case where the sub wins quickly.

How to subscribe / cancel without wrecking a pass
- Subscribe from the Crew tab in Fortnite or Epic’s official Crew page — not a “discounted Crew” Discord.
- Cosmetics you already claimed stay in the locker after you cancel.
- If you cancel, you keep Crew benefits until that billing period ends, then the extra passes stop unlocking. Claim pages before it drops.
- Turning Crew on with two days left in Override only makes sense if the Crew Pack + remaining pass pages are items you will actually claim.
